Ghostbusters Party

Last weekend at the Duda-plex, we had a Ghostbusters I and II showing.  And you can’t have a viewing party without cleverly themed food.

    • Ain’t Afriad of No Toast = fancy schmancy bruschetta Du made
    • Gremin-o-lotta = Pasta Gremolata with Sundried Tomatoes and Garlic Breadcrumbs from the Vegan Yum Yum cook book
    • Oozey Wontons = Guacamole-filled Wontons courtesy of the genius Sweet and Salty Tart
    • Ecto-Cooler = Lime Hi-Ci mixed with Vodka (because we are adults who enjoy Bill Murray films)

I ain’t afriad of no ghost.

Next week’s menu

I’ve realized that when Du isn’t home, I don’t need to plan for a dinner each night.  There is usually more than enough for two servings of leftovers so I usually get a lunch and another dinner out of the deal.  So here’s this week’s menu of dinners:

I’m also planning on making some awesome fall deserts this weekend:

What in the world would I do without Chocolate-Covered Katie?  That girl is the best!!!

Crafting for Charity

I subscribe to’s blog on my googlereader (don’t even get me started how many posts I need to catch up on!) and their post today was about crafting for charity. I finished two knitting project this weekend (scarf for me and baby blanket for sister) and started knitting a manly scarf for Du, but once I’m all done that I’d love to knit for a few  awesome animal causes like Leggings for Life and The Snuggles Project.  ❤

Where in the world is my husband this week?

Du loves his job to bits and pieces.  I would love it more if he didn’t travel so much. I guess managing multiple people on the east coast requires a bunch of flying around.  I can say that when he is home, it feels like a super awesome vacation of fun.  We squeeze in as much as we can and really appreciate every single second we get to spend together.

The problem that arises is my terribley forgetful brain.  I can never remember where he is going, when he is leaving, and when he will be back.  So when someone inevitabley asks, “where is Duda this week?”  I usually respond with an “ummmm…” and an awkard oh-my-goodness-I am-the-worst-wife-ever face. It’s not like he doesn’t tell me these things, numerous times, I just can’t remember.  So in trying to combat my mushy brain, I’m trying to come up with ways of documenting Du’s comings and goings.

I’m mulling over getting a pretty map and using push pins to tell me where he is/will be.  I found these pretties on Etsy (of course).

I found this wall organization system at Pottery Barn but it might be a little extensive for my purposes.  If I could have the white board calendar attached to a map it would be perfect!

Le Menu

It was a busy week with  Du away for work so I didn’t get to make everything on last week’s menu. I still have the ingredients for my Zucchini Pasta and Red Lentil Squash and Curry Stew.  Here’s the additional line up for next week:

I don’t know what I would do/eat without these wonderful blogs!!
